Welcome to Ward 23

Post  Admin on Tue Oct 14, 2008 3:24 pm

The 'Fatigue' forum is dedicated to life within the walls of the asylum, particularly Ward 23 of the Scizophrenic Annexe. Basically these are 'getting into character' threads, but if you want to get into fights or doing yourself personal injury, feel free. Moderators play the role of Facilitators, IC, but are also GMs, OOC. What they say goes.

Patients and Facilitators can both start threads here IC, with a date, time and your character name in the title. New threads can only be started with a date and time that is later than any previous thread. The date cannot be any further than one day on from the latest date currently in use. It's worth noting that usual 'working hours' (including he periods the Patients are allowed to walk free from their cells) are between 8am and 8pm. You don't have to account for every hour, but there must be at least one thread for every day.

You can enter a thread at any time, by stating that you ENTER the scene and come into contact with whoever started it, and any company he or she now has. Anyone can leave a thread by stating that they EXIT from the scene. If the person that started the thread EXITs, all other characters there disperse. If a Facilitator is active in the thread (if, for example, he is in a one to one therapy session with another patient) you must KNOCK and perhaps say a few words to see if you'll be allowed to join. If the Facilitator, however, asks you to LEAVE, then you must do so (with one last post on the thread - even if you describe guards dragging you away kicking and screaming). The Facilitator may ask anyone to leave a thread in this manner, so if they'd like to speak with the person who has just KNOCKed, they can politely ask everyone else to LEAVE.

You can only be in one 'Fatigue' thread at a time. Once you EXIT one you can ENTER another (later) one, or start a new one yourself. Or can can just sit around and wait until someone else does something interesting first.

One final thing. You can create anything you want to when you post, but you can only interact directly with Facilitators, Patients, people you've created and anyone a Facilitator has interacted with (therefore proving them 'REAL').

For example, in one thread you've mentioned that you're being visited by a relative, Patient Bob has been talking about pixies, and the Facilitator has mentioned a hospital warden. Apart from Bob and the Facilitator, who you know to be real, you can also interact with your relative or the hospital warden. You can't interact with the pixies, although it is within your ability to create your own pixies and interact with them. Likewise, Bob cannot interact with your relative. If, however, the Facilitator interacts with your relative, proving he or she is REAL, Bob may also interact with your relative. In the unlikely situation of the Facilitator addressing Bob's pixies, he would likewise be confirming to you that they were REAL, allowing you to interact with them!
The game begins on - that is, the first day In Game is - to all intents and purposes, the 23rd October 1999 - the first 'Fatigue' thread therefore must be set on this day, no earlier than 8am. There's a full moon at night, and Halloween is just around the corner.

Some say that the world will end at midnight, on the final day of December.

HERE is a calendar.
